On the website you will find a lot of information about circularity, Cradle to Cradle, CO2 neutrality and BlackSatino toilet hygiene. If you have very specific questions about the concept, the answers may be on this page. Do you have another question, please ask us!

Green electricity is used in the production of BlackSatino hygiene paper and other emissions are compensated with Gold Standard CO2 credits. With these Gold Standard CO2 credits, BlackSatino contributes to actual CO2 reduction through projects. This makes BlackSatino carbon-neutral. 100% green electricity is used for the production of the BlackSatino dispensers and all non-paper refills (e.g. soaps). That makes it carbon-neutral.

Yes. The boxes made of recovered cardboard are Cradle to Cradle certified, and the few products packaged in foil are made of fully recyclable PE.

The manufacturing process of BlackSatino is Cradle to Cradle Certified, CO2-neutral and is free from harmful chemicals. Thanks to exceptional environmental performance, BlackSatino contributes to a reduced ecological footprint. The hygiene paper is also certified according to the FSC recycling certification mark (raw material for recovered paper) and the EU Ecolabel (production process).

BlackSatino was launched in 2010 as Satino Black. At the time, black was the only dye (carbon black) that could be used to give plastic dispensers made from recycled ABS a uniform colour without harming the environment. Satino Black was renamed BlackSatino on 1 January 2020. The beginning of an even more sustainable story of growth and innovation for a strong brand.

Business customers receive BlackSatino hygiene products through cleaning companies and specialist wholesalers, among others. If your current distributor does not yet have BlackSatino in their range, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

By using high-quality recovered paper, a beautiful white and soft quality is produced in a sustainable way. This is done in 3 steps: Recovered paper from offices is used as raw material. This paper is high-quality, white, and all impurities are subsequently removed from the recovered paper. These include e.g. plastic, staples and ink, which are removed by sieving. The additives used for this are tested and approved as Cradle to Cradle additives and are therefore completely harmless to humans and the environment.

Cradle to Cradle literally means “from cradle to cradle”. This quality mark comes from MBDC, the American agency of founders Michael Braungart and William McDonough. The central idea of the Cradle to Cradle philosophy is that waste should be food: Raw materials and products are endlessly reused or completely degraded and returned to nature. In this way, in the form of raw materials, they serve as food for new products, or literally as food for various organisms in nature. BlackSatino dispensers are designed for the technical cycle, BlackSatino paper refills for the biological cycle. To verify whether a product complies with the Cradle to Cradle guidelines, it is assessed on the basis of 5 categories.
